8 Dimensions of Wellness
There are eight Dimensions of Wellness: occupational, emotional, spiritual, environmental, financial, physical, social, and intellectual. All dimensions are interconnected. Each dimension is equally vital in the pursuit of optimum health. One can reach an optimal level by understanding how to maintain and optimize each of the dimensions.
Occupational Wellness
Occupational wellness is the ability to achieve a balance between work and leisure in a way that promotes health, a sense of personal satisfaction and is (for most people) financially rewarding.
Physical Wellness
Refers to the active action taken to ensuring a balance of physical activity, nutrition and mental well-being to keep your body in top condition it has been proved that there is a direct link between persons physical health and longevity . For example creating a sustainable diet and fitness plan
Emotional wellness
Emotional Wellness refers to an awareness, understanding, and acceptance of your emotions, and your ability to manage effectively through challenges and change. When you're tuned into your feelings, then you can more easily become aware of your bodily sensations
Financial Wellness
Financial wellness refers to a person's overall financial health and the absence of money-related stress. It's the result of successful expense management.
Intellectual Wellness
Intellectual wellness is defined as recognizing one's creative abilities and finding ways to expand knowledge and skills
Social Wellness
Social wellness refers to the relationships we have and how we interact with others. Our relationships can offer support during difficult times. Social wellness involves building healthy, nurturing, and supportive relationships as well as fostering a genuine connection with those around you
Environmental Wellness
Environmental wellness is a process that involves learning about and contributing to the health of the planet. This involves establishing a sustainable lifestyle, protecting natural resources, and eliminating pollutants and excessive waste
Spritual Wellness
Spiritual wellness is being connected to something greater than yourself and having a set of values, principles, morals and beliefs that provide a sense of purpose and meaning to life, then using those principles to guide your actions
